A New Season

After a long and very wet winter it was good to finally see the sun and get out on a local river for a few hours. 
The birds were in full song and the various river side plants were starting  to show a few buds and flowers.
However the trout and insects that get them going were not yet active.
I'm sure in the coming weeks as the sun starts to warm the river valleys the insects will start to move along with the trout.
Rod used was a 7ft 4wt Superfast with a mono furled leader.
