Carbon fishing rods

First of all these rods are not made by me.
They are made to my taper design and specifications.
Over the last few years I have looked at and cast a lot of fly fishing rods.
Most have been reasonable or better, some have been very good (surprisingly so....)
These rods are some of those.
They are not made by me, but are made to my design and specifications.
And I am happy to have them in my shop.

LB Carbon 8ft 4wt

Price: £275.00

An 8ft 4wt 4 piece carbon rod.
This is an excellent all-rounder for the streams and smaller rivers.
The action is fast and progressive but not stiff, the tip is light enough to cast neatly at short range, and also protect light tippets.
While having enough power in the butt to push a larger fly in to the wind and put plenty of pressure on a good fish should be lucky enough to hook one.
8ft being a very useful length, long enough to give good line control and a bit of reach, while not too long to be awkward on those inevtiable over grown sections.

A medium fast actioned general purpose fly rod.
The blank is made using Hi modulus Japanese carbon, the handle is AAA grade cork, with a hardwood uplocking reel seat and PacBay guides.
The rod taper was designed by myself and the fixtures and fittings are to my specification, with over 25 years of rod making and designing behind me I belive this is a very versatile and useful rod.
The butt section is powerful enough to get plenty of pressure on bigger fish, however there is some flex in the butt to help lift sunk lines as well as give the rod plenty of that all important feel.
The mid section continues that theme up the rod to a tip that is soft enough to be forgiving on tippets, but stiff enough help generate tight enough loops that will drive into that inevitable head wind.
