A Rackelhanen style fly tied to represent the small yellow stone fly, better known as a Yellow Sally.
Size 16 is small enough to represent a Yellow Sally; it is also just about big enough to make a reasonable
representation of a small Yellow Mayfly.
The upland fish really do seem to go after the Yellow Sallys when they are about on the water,
which is generally mid to late season. I used the fly to good effect on a trip up to Wales,
the Yellow Sally is used about half way though the video clip.
It is such an effective fly that it is one of the few specific flies that I carry.
